Quick write

Yesterday we did a 10 minute quick write and write a story with these words in it:

  • Chicken
  • hobbled
  • towbar
  • death
We also had to highlight the best sentence. Here's mine:

On Saturday when the day hit noon I wandered down to the local dairy to get an ice cream  and some hot chips with chicken salt. I made my way back down my street and sat down on the steps in the sun watch the the carriages and people go by while I ate my food.

After a while a man who hobbled by and saw me eating my food and tried to take it, he ripped the paper and all the hot chips fell on the ground, I punch him in the nose and he ran off and screaming like a little girl. Then a prison carriage carrying a man on a chair with wheels by it’s towbar came down the street and stopped because it was loose then a dog came and sat under the horse, I don’t know why but it stayed there until the prison guards shooed him off and keeps going. I was curious to see where the were going so I followed. They finally stopped in a forest beside a concrete room and went inside and I looked through a little window and watched the people inside, they were talking to a guy in the chair all strapped up, then it hit me: the guy in the chair was being sentenced to death. Then I ran off in fear telling myself that I shouldn’t of follow the carriage.

Monday mornigs

'Monday mornings' is a story about a teacher who acts like a child. (We only found out that he's a teacher and the end.)

Texts that make him sound like a child:
1. He hates getting up in the mornings and when his alarm clock goes off he wants to throw it at the wall.
2. He has a lunch box and school uniform.
3. He walks down the path and see's a soccer ball from the neighbours and kicks it through a hole in the fence, does a dance and runs to school after hearing smashing glass.
4. leans back on his chair with a few minutes to spare eating chocolate

Texts that make him sound like a teacher:
1. "goodmorning class"
"good morning Mr  Miller.

Furnware trip

On Thursday 25th we went to Furnware on the far side of Hastings. There were three rotations. They were: Table designing which was when where Shepard got into groups and each group designed their own table (when their class was at that rotation) and the workers are the judges and they choose the best table, and the table that won, the winning groups class actually gets the table made and gets it in their class. Then there was a tour through the factory and a slide presentation where they talked to us all about it and how it got it's name.

Here are some photos from the factory:
